Non-Chicago Courses of Study: The BOE Institute, in conjunction with Northwestern University, is a “mobile” university, meaning its classroom programs can be held in virtually any city where a requisite number of students are enrolled. These programs may be our regular format of weekend-based classes, which are open to the public, or of the “private label” variety, where individual companies solely seeking instruction for their students sponsor the entire cohort. The BOE Institute attempts to work with professional associations in any city where courses are offered, allowing members of those associations to receive a tuition discount as an additional benefit of their association membership.
Learning the HP 12C Financial Calculator Course: Instructor Gary Englund has written a guide to learning and understanding the Hewlett Packard 12C Financial Calculator. It covers all the material regularly covered in a Fundamentals course for a CFP Board-registered program in an understandable format. Topics include time-value of money calculations (both 4 and 5 variable problems), loans and amortization schedules, uneven cash flows, and the famed 3-step college or retirement funding problems frequently encountered on CFP(r) Certification Examinations. The course has many sample problems, and includes the required keystrokes for each calculation. Individual copies are $30.00.
